This design aims to create a way for people to comment on an event or incident based on location. There have been several incidents of bias and hate crimes since the US presidential election, many of these have taken place on college campuses. The proposed Standing Alongside app would allow community members to stand with and support the victims of such incidents.
When bias incidents take place on campus or in a community, the location where the event took place can become a point of trauma for the victim. This mapping app would use augmented reality to allow community members to talk back to hate and reach out to victims. Incident logs would be pinned on a map, the Standing Alongside app would allow users to post their text or video responses to the incidents that happened in that location. It would allow others to view/read about the incident and the community’s response.
